REAL World 2008: Day 0

I landed safe and sound at about 5pm local time here in Austin. Apparently there were some significant thunderstorms in Texas today, so I’m glad I wasn’t delayed at all.

Ran into a lot of familiar faces here at the Omni, but I didn’t have much time to socialize as I had to meet Geoff P. and some others for dinner. Had some great lamb at Louie’s 106 (thanks, Geoff!).

The hotel room is really nice. The staff even brought me a complimentary bottle of wine! But that won’t do me much good since I don’t drink. If anyone at the conference wants it, let me know!

I didn’t get to go to the practice for my “Software Made Simple” part of the keynote, but Jay Jennings informed me that I lost the coin toss so I’ll be going first!

Now I need to get some sleep!
