It was brought up on the REAL Software Forums, that the redesign of the REAL Software web site eliminated the Application Showcase. The showcase was a place for people to show off their REALbasic applications. You could upload a small picture of your application with a brief writeup about it.
This seems like it might be a good use of Flickr. After all, Flickr is ideal for managing pictures and it also lets you describe them. We can all make sure to tag them with REALbasicShowcase so that they’ll be easy to find. There are plenty of Flickr plugins for WordPress, so I should be able to then show them quite easily here at RBDevZone as well.
What do you think?

I happen to like the idea. However, the showcase was selected RB programs that typically stood out from the rest. It might be useful if there was a way for people to submit their programs to someone for approval before they where made part of the showcase.
Also, the Flikr plugin that I use connects to a specfic user. Not by tags. There might be one that does what you want, but if you want approval and limitations, it might be good to have your own showcase account and link to that.
Thanks for the feedback. These are some good suggestions. So far, nothing has been decided. I’d love to get more feedback from others!
Paul, I’d like to see a return of the showcase, too. However, I’m not sure if Flikr is the correct site for it. I also agree that entries need to be reviewd or else the site will be bloated with every application that people want others to see, rather than truly outstanding ones.
